Alpenhof

Offering ski-in access, this smoke-free European-inspired lodge is in Teton Village, a 50-yard walk from the Bridger Gondola.

Dining and refreshment options at Alpenhof include the Alpenrose restaurant, renowned for flavorful Swiss cuisine; and the Alpenhof Bistro, with creative bar foods, cocktails, beer, and seasonal outdoor patio. The bistro is also the setting for a daily complimentary European-style breakfast buffet, with meats, cheeses, and pastries. In the winter, the hotel hosts twice-weekly complimentary house parties with cheese and chocolate fondues.

Out in the back, an aluminum-lined pool sparkles in the sunshine; the pool is closed every May. A large spa tub is adjacent. Spa services are also available, including the in-room Alpine Aroma Glow.

Complimentary ski lockers are on site. Overnight tuning and waxing are provided for a surcharge.

All guestrooms at Alpenhof are nonsmoking. Rooms vary in size, decor, and amenities, but all have Bavarian or Tyrolean decor, fluffy down duvets, 100-percent cotton sheets, and hand-painted room numbers on the doors. Bath products are British Gilchrist & Soames in the winter, organic ProTerra in the summer.

All guestrooms are equipped with complimentary wireless Internet access and TVs with premium cable channels.

  • Exit the airport by turning right onto Hwy 89.
  • Drive about 10 miles into Jackson.
  • At the Town Square, turn right onto Broadway. Proceed about 2 miles; turn right onto Hwy 22.
  • Proceed about 3 miles; turn right onto Hwy 390.
  • Proceed about 7 miles; turn left into Teton Village.
  • The hotel is the second on the right, next to the clock tower.


Getting there: Shuttle vans are $21 one way, $37 round trip. Taxis are $46 each way. Reservations are recommended for both.

Getting around: Teton Village attractions and lifts are within 5 minutes by foot or skis. START public buses provide service between Teton Village and Jackson; fare is $3 each way. Ticket books, available at numerous hotels and stores, are $20 for 10 rides. Car rentals are available online.
